A long wait can be worth a note to Apple. Sending that note does not by itself make the review faster.

These times describe the reports we have. They do not show a cause, and they are not a promise of a faster review.
Expedited review is listed on its own. When enough reports exist, the page puts that time next to the time for an update. That describes those reports. It does not promise a faster review.
The "about" figure is the middle report, after sorting published reports from the last 14 days. When the number of reports is even, it sits halfway between the two in the middle. "9 in 10" is the time that 9 in 10 reports were at or under. A report much longer than the rest is left out before those figures are chosen. A small share of the shortest and longest remaining reports is set aside, so one unusual wait does not swing the figure. A report far outside the rest can be held until a person checks it, so it is not counted yet. A day with too few reports is a gap, not a zero. Posts on X are counted on their own and are not part of these times. A separate line combines those reports with what people are posting about their reviews. It stays hidden when there is too little to go on. None of this is a promise about how long a review will take.
